Fatherless America
Half-Day Conference/Seminar

"A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a boy."

Why should our Men's Ministry program start a mentoring program? Glad you asked. Paul writes in Romans 5:20: "But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more." So, when there are boys and young men "abounding" in the pain of fatherlessness, how much more will God's grace abound to them?

As John the Baptist cried out as a lone voice in the wilderness preparing the way for the coming of the Lord; the fatherless are crying out. It's a cry in the desert, in the wilderness...the inner city...your city...in your church...in our neighborhoods and they are crying out for help!

God is calling forth these boys and young men that are wondering in the desert of life. He wants to give them a focus of destination and destiny, to do great things in His name. You know, God is waiting with open arms -- He just needs men to say yes to help that boy find his way to those open arms.

So, why start a mentoring program? Because you have boys that need mentors, role models, right there in your church.

And because scripture tells us: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after the orphans and widows in their destress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." (James 1:27, NIV)

"With the fracture and brokenness in our communities and households, the time is ripe for those who have a relationship with the heavenly Father to reach out to the fatherless, one boy at a time -- and that is exactly what Sam Mehaffie is challenging us to do." Dr. Ken Canfield
